# Survey3 PRO - Cables

All Survey3 PRO cameras contain a **6 position (pin) m12 industrial IP67 male (M) plug**. The port on the camera is male (M) and the connecting cable is female (F)

The m12 pin assignment is as follows:

| Pin Position | Wire Color | Signal Name       |

| 1            | Brown      | Power 5V          |
| 2            | White      | Ground (Power)    |
| 3            | Blue       | GNSS (GPS) RX     |
| 4            | Black      | Trigger (PWM)     |
| 6            | Grey       | Exposure (Strobe) |
| 7            | Pink       | Ground (Signal)   |

## Increasing Cable Length:

Our standard maximum cable length is 5 meters. You can increase the length by first connecting the [5m m12(F) to m12(M) cable](#m12-f-to-m12-m) version to the camera and then the appropriate terminating end afterwards.

You can also order the terminating end in the shortest length possible (1.5m) and then add those to the [5m m12(F) to m12(M) cable](#m12-f-to-m12-m) depending on your application. So then you're default length would be 6.5m long.

## Cable Versions:

We offer a few variations of Survey3 PRO cables to complement your configuration:

### m12(F) to DAQ-A

Use this m12 female (F) cable to connect directly to our DAQ-A. Power must be supplied to the DAQ-A at its side USB micro port. This is known as a "Power to Camera" DAQ-A cable.

### m12(F) to USB (PWR) + TRIG + EXP

Use this m12 female (F) cable to connect to USB power and standard servo PWM trigger and relay exposure pulse connections. The GNSS (GPS) wire is available and does not have a connector installed.

### m12(F) to Wires

Use this m12 female (F) cable to make your own custom cables. Refer to the wire color and signal names above.

### m12(F) to m12(M)

Use this m12 female (F) to m12 male (M) cable to extend the length of the other cable versions.

Choose the shortest 1.5m length in the other terminating cables and connect it to this 5 meter long m12(F) to m12(M) cable. Then you'll have a default length of 6.5 meters, with the ability to exchange various terminating ends.
